Heartland Therapeutic Riding Inc (HTR) provides equine-assisted services and therapies to children and adults from around the Kansas City area. HTR offers adaptive riding lessons, ground horsemanship classes and occupational therapy utilizing hippotherapy. These activities and therapies provide physical, cognitive, and emotional growth through the movement of, and the emotional bond created with the horse. 

HTR believes that horses can play an important role in helping individuals reach their full potential. Riding and interacting with horses is fun and creates an opportunity for participants to improve their physical, cognitive and emotional well-being. They foster an environment where participants are motivated to reach new levels of courage and confidence.

Their weekly riding lessons are conducted by PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors. Hippotherapy sessions are conducted by an occupational therapist certified by the American Hippotherapy Association. They operate with the assistance of 16 specially trained horses and more than 100 volunteers each week .

US Equestrian Announces Inaugural Opportunity Fund Grants to USEF Community Outreach Organizations

Lexington, Ky. – US Equestrian is pleased to announce that it has awarded more than $60,000 in USEF Opportunity Fund grants to seven USEF Community Outreach Organizations in the fund’s inaugural year. The 2022 USEF Opportunity Fund grants will support a range of projects, from expanding programming and purchasing safety equipment to infrastructure improvements and business operations support.
