Program Overview
The USEF Horsemanship Training Series is designed to identify and develop the next generation of top U.S. Equestrian Team talent through instruction from experts in a variety of aspects of horsemastership. Past participants include members of recent U.S. Teams, including Lillie Keenan, who helped the U.S. secure a Gold Medal at CSIO5* in Dublin in August 2017 and at CSIO5* Spruce Meadows 'Masters' in September 2017, Ali Wolff who was on the Silver Medal winning U.S. Team at CSIO4* Wellington in March 2017, and Jennifer Gates, Michael Hughes, and Wilton Porter, all who were members of the U.S. Team at CSIO3* Samorin in September 2017.
The 2025 USEF Horsemastership Training Series will take on an enhanced format structure, offering both in-person and online instruction with selected athletes throughout the duration of the year, and is designed to assist in the development and identification of the next generation of top U.S. Jumping team athletes. The first segment will be held January 2-5 in Wellington, FL and feature four days of mounted and unmounted educational sessions with top athletes and experts in the equine industry.
Athletes are invited to participate in the 2025 Horsemastership Training Series based on their results at U.S. Jumping Pathway Programs, along with wild card athletes. Athletes from the pathway programs include winners of the FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships, Platinum Performance/USEF Talent Search Finals East/West, and the Neue Schule/USEF Junior Jumper National Championships.
