Aachen, Germany – The Defender U.S. Eventing Team moved up nearly five places on the leaderboard in the SAP-Cup throughout the three phases to ultimately clinch a well-deserved second place finish. Aachen, Germany – The Defender U.S. Eventing Team holds third place overnight as they look towards the final phase of cross-country in the SAP Cup CCIO4*-S at CHIO Aachen. The team, led by Chef d’Equipe Bobby Costello, produced solid scores keeping them within reach of the top five after the dressage phase, with the team then producing four consecutive clear rounds in the Main Stadium for their jumping phase later in the day. Aachen, Germany - McLain Ward and Callas were nearly unbeatable in the opening evening class of CHIO Aachen, the Turkish Airlines - Prize of Europe, which saw Richard Vogel (GER) nudge the pair out of the top placing on the podium.
