Iron Spring Farm's young KWPN stallion Sir Sinclair has been awarded the 2005 United States Dressage Federation (USDF) FEI Six-Year-Old Horse of the Year Championship. This title follows the 2005 USEF/Markel FEI Six-Year-Old Championship as well as first place in the FEI Six-Year-Old class at Dressage at Devon, where Sir Sinclair and Belinda Nairn-Wertman earned a 8.7 from FEI "O" Judge Linda Zang and FEI "I" Judge Jennie Loriston-Clarke.

"We are very proud of Sir Sinclair," said Mary Alice Malone, owner of Iron Spring Farm and also a USDF Gold Medalist. "It is wonderful to have a stallion of this caliber, not only for competitions, but also for breeding." Sir Sinclair is an impeccably bred son of Lord Sinclair out of the Ster Sport mare Krishna, by Flemmingh. The 17-hand bay stallion is passing on his desirable genetics to his offspring, who also had a banner year in 2005.

Andorra ISF, by Sir Sinclair out of Hivona by Consul, was the winner of the 2005 fillies class at Dressage at Devon. She also took home the Reserve Champion Filly, Reserve Champion Young Horse and the Cosequin/USDF Filly Championship. This was only a couple weeks after earning her first premium status at the KWPN Keuring, as well as the Best Foal award, giving her second place nationwide from the KWPN. "As a breeder, it is extremely gratifying when the inspectors and judges love your young horses as much as you do," Malone said. Andorra ISF is one of several Sir Sinclair offspring commended by the keuring inspectors in 2005.

Two other Sir Sinclair foals rounded out the top three at the keuring held at Iron Spring Farm, September 16-17. Athena, another first premium filly, placed second overall and earned seventh place nationwide for her owner and breeder Loretta Giancroce. Aloha SE, bred and owned by Siegi Belz-Fry placed third overall at the keuring.

At the KWPN keuring in Spanaway, Washington, on September 11, Zamora, by Sir Sinclair out of Liberty W by Haarlem, earned Best Young Horse. The yearling filly was bred by Mr. Van de Vliert in The Netherlands and is owned by Richard Chong. She went on to be awarded first place yearling nationwide by the KWPN. Apres, owned by Cara Crosettis and bred by Sandra Heinrichs and Pat Estes, earned first premium and placed fourth overall at the KWPN keuring held September 22 in Austin, TX. Apres is out of the Keur mare Karina by Ekstein.
