Cannes, France - Laura Kraut entetred the GCT Grand Prix CSI5* in Cannes on Saturday one point back of the GCT Championship rankings lead. After a four fault effort over two rounds with Jubilee d'Ouilly and a top ten finish, Kraut is now back on top with 132 points. She lost the top ranking to Portugal's Luciana Diniz in London one week ago, but with the dust settling in Cannes is now 8-points ahead of Germany's Christian Ahlmann.

Only five combinations jumped clear in the first round of Saturday's two rounds plus jump-off format Grand Prix, so on the strength of a quick four fault effort in round one Kraut and Jubilee were able to jump a second round. They navigated that round clear and, though they weren't a part of the jump-off,  finished well in the money in tenth place and re-gained the number one ranking. Ahlmann finished in thirteenth with Codex One, and Diniz in tewenty second with Lennox.

"I think it is best to just keep focusing on each individual competition," said Kraut during the post Grand Prix press conference. "I was really pleased with Jubilee tonight, she jumped fantastic. I am just really honoured and pleased to be in the position I am. The first round tonight was probably the biggest I have jumped, very big, very scopey. I am very lucky to have two super horses at this level."

The winner of the Grand Prix was Germany's Marcus Ehning on Plot Blue. He was followed by William Funnel on Billy Congo and Maikel van der Vleuten on VDL Groep Verdi. A full recap of the class is availble at www.globalchampionstour.com.
