Gieschen Takes Top Prize at CVI Lexington

– In the senior division at the CVI1* in Lexington, VA it was Kathryn Gieschen who, over two rounds of compulsory and freestyle competition, earned first place finishes at the U.S. East Coast’s first ever CVI competition. With a first round overall score* of 7.618 and second round overall score of 7.572 Gieschen, vaulting on Revlon and lunged by Alison Gieschen, came away with wins in both rounds.** Coming in second in round one was Kristy Nicolo with a score of 7.029, and in round two Leah Coe with a 7.425.

The winner of both rounds in the Junior division was Annie Young vaulting on Moses and lunged by Dusti Hausman. In the Children’s division Kathryn Appleby-Wineberg won on Bolero, lunged by Alison Gieschen, and Irena Shaffer and Kate Shaffer won the Pas de Deux on VT Haydn's Concerto, lunged by Wayne Beisecker.

**This was a CVI 1* and only one round needed to be offered, but the competition added a second round for the sake of competitiors to learn, and qualify. Placings and prizes were awarded for two spereate rounds in the Senior and Junior divisions.
