LSU and Idaho State Work Together to Reunite Katrina Pets with Owners

by By Sarah Holt | Jan 5, 2006, 9:44 AM

A group of Louisiana State University and Idaho State University students are volunteering their time to give owners personal help searching for their pets. If you, or someone you know, needs assistance in searching the Animal Emergency Response Network (AERN) for a pet lost during the hurricanes, please contact them by e-mail at [email protected]. When you e-mail, please provide:
• Your current contact information (name, current address, phone number, email address)
• Address where your pet was left or last seen
• A complete description of your pet (breed, sex, color, distinguishing marks, coat length, tail, ears...)
• Provide any information on any identification your pet had (rabies tag number, microchip number, tattoo, id tag, collar type and color....)

They will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your email, and the students will begin the search process. You can also go to www.petfinder.com or www.vetmed.lsu.edu for information about lost Katrina pets.
