National Horse Show Association of America Accepting Bids to Host 2006 ASPCA Maclay Regionals

The National Horse Show Association of America (NHSAA) is currently accepting bids from horse shows who would like to host a 2006 ASPCA Maclay regional competition.

Horse shows that wish to host a Maclay regional must have a horse show date in early September 2006 and be suitable to host a qualifier for this prestigious competition. It is also preferable that the show have an indoor arena.

The ASPCA Maclay class has been held since 1933, and its winners are some of the biggest names in equestrian sport. Previous winners include William Steinkraus (1941), Frank Chapot (1948), George Morris (1952), Leslie Burr (1972), Schaub and Goutal’s trainer Stacia Klein Madden (1987) and Nicole Shahinian Simpson (1992).

The ASPCA Maclay Regions are:

-Region 1, Northeast: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont
-Region 2, East: New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania
-Region 3, Southeast: Alabama, Washington ,D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia
-Region 4, Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio
-Region 5, Central: Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin
-Region 6, Mountain: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah
-Region 7, Northwest: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming
-Region 8, West: California, Hawaii and Nevada
