Del Mar, Calif. - Del Mar International World Cup Week saw some extraordinary Hunter Derby competition this evening, as the 2013 Grand Prix Hunter Derby Series culminated with tonight's exciting Final.

In tonight's event, two of the Del Mar Fairgrounds'  arenas were put into play, as horses and riders were required to jump out of the Del Mar Arena and canter into the San Diego Arena to continue their course under the lights. After completing the jumping elements in the San Diego Arena, horses once again jumped back into the Del Mar Arena to finish their round. Riders worked within a time allowed, those over the time had points deducted, while those under the time had points added for efficiency.

Twenty-one horse and rider pairs competed, but tonight was Tara Metzner's night to shine. Aboard Fabricio, owned by Davlyn Farms, she put in two exceptional rounds to earn the blue ribbon and the Bubbaloo Memorial Perpetual Trophy, provided by Jon and Tammy Williams of Davlyn Farms. And if that wasn't enough of an accomplishment, Tara placed second riding Come Monday, also owned by Davlyn Farms. Buddy Brown, with two beautiful rounds aboard Leah Rappaport's Cosineval, secured the third place ribbon.
