Lexington, Ky. - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is now accepting applications for the Director of Sport Programs staff position based at the USEF headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Sport Programs is responsible for the administration of all aspects of sport programming for the eight international disciplines. The Director supervises the activities of the Managing Directors for each discipline and has responsibility for the development and administration of the annual budget. The Director is the liaison to the International Disciplines Council and the Eligible Athlete Committees, serves as the Chef de Mission at the FEI World Equestrian Games, Pan American Games and Olympic Games and has oversight responsibility for all coaching programs.
In coordination with the International Disciplines Council, the Director is responsible for developing the High Performance Strategic Plan and is the primary sport contact to the United States Olympic Committee and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). The Director works closely with the Executive Director of Administration and Finance, the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, and the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as is successful experience working with volunteer committees and leadership. Critical thinking skills and problem solving skills are a must. An undergraduate degree is required as is the ability to travel frequently.
