Martin, Tenn.
– The break in the NCEA season ended over the weekend and the trek toward the NCEA championship in April began. In Tennessee, the University of Tennessee Martin hosted Delaware State and Georgia. The No.6 ranked Georgia Bulldogs made the most of the weekend by finishing 2-0.

Competition started Friday with the Bulldogs (UGA) and Skyhawks (UTM) both taking on the Hornets (DSU).  Georgia and UTM both earned 17-3 wins, setting up a showdown on Saturday.

The Friday results turned out to be no coincidence; the teams rode to a 9-9 tie that came down to raw score.  Each team showed their strengths. UTM took a 6-3 win in the Hunter Seat portion of Competition and Georgia took an equal 6-3 in the Western showdown. They rode to within 30 raw points of each other, but it was Georgia with 1525.5 that earned the win.  With that win the Bulldogs are now 6-2 overall and head to College Station this weekend to face No.9 Texas A&M.

The Skyhawks 1,502 points dropped them to 4-6 overall. They will be off for a little over a month before a visit from NCEA Division II team Minnesota-Crookston.
