Fresno, Calif
. - The Fresno State equestrian team upset No. 2 Baylor with a nail-biting 8-7 victory on day one of the Bulldog-hosted tournament against SMU and Baylor.

"More than excited is the best way to put it right now," interim head coach Eric Hubbard said. "We've been riding really well, so we knew we could do it at home, and the girls proved it today."

Both teams competed neck-and-neck throughout the entire competition. Tied 7-7, the last ride determined the winner. The victory was on junior Brigid O'Leary's shoulders as she took to the arena for reining. She beat her opponent by only half of a point, upsetting No. 2 Baylor.

"We've been really trying to work hard and put in the effort to beat Baylor," O'Leary said. "I'm so proud that we did it."

Not only did O'Leary earn the game winning point, it was also the first competition point of her career.

"I'm really happy," she said.

Macy Wilson's score of 88 in equitation on the flat earned her the title of Most Outstanding Player for that event. Baylor riders took the remaining three MOP awards in equitation over fences, horsemanship and reining.
