by USEF National Affiliates Department | Mar 14, 2014, 10:34 PM

Lexington, Ky.
- The United States is hosting the 2014 Saddle Seat World Cup competition during the Blue Ridge Classic Horse Show in Asheville, NC July 20-25. This is an excellent opportunity for you to volunteer your services, offer a horse for use in the competition, or make a donation to support this prestigious event.

Volunteer

Volunteering at the Saddle Seat World Cup is a great way for equestrian enthusiasts to get involved and find out what the program is all about. You can attend yourself or bring your lesson students and help make this event a success. If you'd like to volunteer, the following volunteer positions are available:
Groom
Scribes
Gate worker
Runner
To volunteer, please complete the form available at https://www.usef.org/documents/disciplines/SSE/2014VolunteerOpportunities.pdf.

Donate a Horse for the Competition

Saddle Seat World Cup riders are required to compete on two unfamiliar horses. That means that as many as 80 horses could be needed. Do you have a horse you would be willing to donate for the event?

The Saddle Seat World has proven to be a great marketing tool, often leading to sales and the successful promotion of equestrian establishments worldwide. In addition to being ridden by world-class riders, horses appearing in the Saddle Seat World Cup will be honored in the Official Program. If you're interested in donating a horse, here's some useful information:

For the three-gaited competition, any saddle seat type horses are acceptable.
For the five-gaited competition, American Saddlebred horses are acceptable.
Horses can wear either a full bridle, or a snaffle bridle with two reins and a martingale.
Horses are required to complete both rail and pattern work, but don't necessarily have to be "equitated."

Other Ways to Contribute

Traveling to Blue Ridge with an empty space on your trailer?  Consider donating space for a World Cup horse that needs a ride to or from the Event.

Help offset the expense of stabling the equine athletes while on the competition grounds with a "Buy a Stall" donation. A plaque with your name or business will be displayed on a stall. Additionally, your contribution will be recognized in the Official Program. Complete the form available at https://www.usef.org/documents/disciplines/SSE/BuyAStall.pdf to "Buy a Stall."

Promote your business to Saddle Seat Patrons around the globe by purchasing an ad in the official 2014 Saddle Seat World Cup program. Contact [email protected] today to reserve a space.

Support the event with a donation to offset the expense of fielding teams and hosting this International competition. Your generous support ensures the continued success of the Saddle Seat World Cup competition and places Saddle Seat Equitation in the International spotlight.
