Waco, Texas. - he No. 3 Oklahoma State equestrian team won the Big 12 Championship for the third-straight year after defeating No. 6 Baylor, 10-9, at Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco, Texas.
It is the fourth conference title for the Cowgirls.
Two judges score the events during the Big 12 Championships and the scores are combined for the rider’s official score.
In the covered arena, the equitation over fences team picked up a big three points for the Cowgirls. Senior Samantha Harrison posted a 162-156 win over Paige Parker, her 10th of the season in the event. Freshman Jorden Davis earned a 148-135 victory over Savannah Jenkins. It was her seventh win of the year in the discipline. Junior Maggie Gampfer picked up where she left off yesterday and recorded a 145-139 win against Ashley Ann McGehee. OSU won the equitation over fences event, 3-2.
Baylor won the equitation on the flat event, 5-0.
In the outdoor arena, the horsemanship squad dominated the Bears, scoring four points for OSU. Junior Lindsey McMullen recorded a 148.5-143.5 win over Parris Rice. It is her fourth win in the last five matches. Junior Katy Krshka posted a score of 146.5 in her victory over Mary Brown for her team-high 11th win of the season in the event. Sophomores Paris Nottingham and Ty Paris also picked up wins for the Cowgirls. Nottingham won her match, 145-139, and Paris defeated Rachel Nankervis in a close matchup, 143.5-142.5.
