Cesar Parra has a new star partner in Wild Dance. The eight-year-old licensed Hanoverian stallion is owned by Horses Unlimited, a premier American breeding establishment with a roster of world-class stallions. Wild Dance was the winner of the Stallion Performance Test with 140 points and already has an impressive FEI level show record, including the reserve championship at the 2005 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals, a prestigious show circuit in Germany for seven- to nine-year-old dressage horses competing at Prix St. Georges.
"He is a phenomenal horse," said Parra of the handsome chestnut stallion. "Not only is he really elastic, but he is incredibly rideable. He has the presence and the personality to be a successful international horse." Wild Dance is by the Hanoverian stallion Wolkenstein II, who was also a champion at the stallion performance test (1993). Wolkenstein II is the sire of 41 licensed stallions. Wild Dance also has impressive blood from his dam, Milva, a States Premium mare by Matcho AA.
"We are really proud to be able to bring a horse of this caliber to American breeders," said Anne Sparks Whitten, owner of Horses Unlimited. "He not only is extremely well-bred, but he's an amazing performance horse." Wild Dance is licensed as a Hanoverian, but is also approved for Oldenburg, Hessian, Westfalian and Rhinelander Verbands.
In May, Wild Dance won both Prix St. Georges classes at the German show CDN Aubenhausen, with scores of 72.92% and 75.67%. Wild Dance was also the highest scoring qualifier for the Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals, with a 75.67%. Parra will continue working with Hubertus Schmidt, who has maintained the horse's schedule in Germany. Schmidt and Parra have worked closely for the last several years with a variety of horses, including Parra's Olympic and World Cup partner, Galant du Serein. "Our plan with Wild Dance is to take our time and let him develop at his own pace. He's an amazing athlete," said Parra. Wild Dance has arrived in the United States and is currently in quarantine.
