The 23rd Annual Asheville Lions Club Horse Show will be held May 17-20 and will include a large schedule of classes, including the American Saddlebred, Roadster horses and ponies, saddle seat equitation, Hackney Ponies and Academy divisions. A panel of Renee Lavery, James Nichols and James Taylor will mark the cards in the performance classes, and a judge to be named will tie the Academy classes. The show will also feature a couple of classes Friesians. The prize list for this show will be mailed by March 10.
Both shows will be held indoors, and the facility also provides a covered warm-up ring. There are also two large outside rings for schooling and one longing ring available. Over 600 permanent stalls are available in a total of six different barns. Added for 2006 is a road from the lower barns to the covered warm-up ring. The competition covers all levels.
