Menlo Park, Calif.
– The last of five Selection Trails for the 2014 U.S. Vaulting Team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy was help over the weekend as part of the Woodside Spring Fest in Menlo Park, California at the Portola Valley Training Center. Team announcements will be made later in June, so the Spring Fest was one last chance for many the U.S.’s best vaulters to impress selectors.

In the women’s gold division it was stalwart Mary McCormick taking the victory over 12 other compeitors with an 8.591 score. Mary Garrett finished second and Alicen Divita Third.

In the men’s gold division Kristian Roberts was first with Patrick Stevens following in second and Colton Palmer in third.

Sisters Kimberly & Cassidy Palmer won the Pas de Deux, and the Woodside Vaulters won the A Team division vaulting to music from The Wizard of Oz.

Woodside Spring Fest judges were Suzanne Detol (FEI4*), Adrienne Stang (USEF R; retired "O"), and Kelley Holly. Special thanks from USEF go out to Wendell and Kevin Chambers, owners of the Portola Valley Training Center, who consistently go out of their way to welcome competitors, beautifully decorate the arena, groom the footing, and make vaulting events a great experience for competitors, spectators, and officials.
