Laura Chapot Wins Thursday Feature at 45th Annual Lake Placid Horse Show

- Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station, NJ, swept the top two places in the Adirondack Flying Service 1.40meter Speed Class, Thursday's featured event at the 45th annual Lake Placid Horse Show, Presented by Sea Shore Stables.

Adam Prudent of Middleburg, VA, took an early lead in the class when he completed the 12-jump, one-round course designed by Olaf Petersen, Jr. fault-free in 61.631seconds on Si Bella. His lead held up through the next 18 rounds till Chapot moved into the lead with a clean ride in 60.684 seconds on Bradberry.

Seven rides later, Chapot returned on Zealous and claimed the win over the 39-horse field with a clean ride in 60.619 seconds. Chapot's time on Bradberry held up for second place and Prudent's score on Si Bella was good for third.

Other feature class winners on Thursday included Victoria Colvin on Chanel B 2, Julie Welles on Bazooka De Muze, and Linda Langmeier on Rafino in the three sections of the Hendricks Gin 1.30meter Speed Class.
