Lexington, KY – The USEF has announced the show jumping team which will represent the United States at the CSIO to be held in Wellington, FL, March 8-12. Team members are as follows:
• Margie Engle on Hidden Creek’s Perin, a 16 year old Westphalian gelding, owned by the Hidden Creek Farm of Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
• Kent Farrington on Madison, a 10 year old Dutch Warmblood mare, owned by Alexa Weeks, of Southport, Connecticut.
• McLain Ward of Brewster, New York on Sapphire, an 11 year old Belgian Warmblood mare, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Harrison’s Double H Farm in Wellington, Florida.
• Beezie Madden of Cazenovia, New York on Authentic, an 11 year old Dutch Warmblood gelding, owned by Abigail Wexner, of New Albany, Ohio.
The alternates are:
• Aaron Vale, of Aiken, South Carolina on Artur 28, a 12 year old Hanoverian gelding, owned by Millstream of Aiken, South Carolina.
• Molly Ashe on Neuville, a 12 year old gelding, owned by Jane Clark of New York, New York
• Alison Firestone on Secret Love, an 11 year old Belgian Warmblood gelding, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Bertram Firestone, of Upperville, Virginia.
The United States’ Chef d’Equipe is George Morris, who guided the U.S team to a decisive victory in the 2005 Super League competition in Europe. In addition to the U.S team nine other international teams are expected to compete in Saturday’s event and include Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Venezuela.
