- Robert Lee of Old Saybrook, Conn., rode El Grecco, owned by Brook Run Farm LLC, to the win in the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby Presented by Eastern Hay & Purina Animal Nutrition Saturday at the 2014 I Love New York Horse Show, Presented by Sea Shore Stables.

Lee, 23, and his former junior and amateur jumper topped both rounds, receiving a score of 184.00 from judges John Roper and Linda Andrisani for round one and a score of 205.00 from judges Scott Fitton and Mike Rosser for round two. His total of 389.00 points for his two rides in the all grass Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix Field over the course designed by Steve Stephens and Bobby Murphy made him the clear winner.

"He's a great jumper and I just try to stay out of his way and let him do his thing," Lee said. "He loves jumping on grass and he really likes this big field here."

Jimmy Torano and Poolside received a score of 369.50 to place second and third place went to David Oliynyk and Generous with a score of 369.00.

"He and I have been together since 2009 and he really is such a great horse," Lee continued about his former jumper. "I showed him in some hunter classes in Florida and then made a more permanent move to the hunters in the last two months. We won the Derby at Saratoga and were high performance hunter champions both weeks here. I would have to say that he really likes his new career."
