Laura Chapot Wins $5,000 High Peaks Resort 1.40m Speed Class at Adirondack Horse Show

- Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station, NJ, continued her winning ways Friday at the inaugural Adirondack Horse Show, Presented by Sea Shore Stables, riding Zealous to the win in the $5,000 High Peaks Resort 1.40m Speed Class.

Chapot turned in the fastest of eight fault-free rides over the one-round course designed by Pierre Jolicoeur, finishing in 56.187 seconds. She also placed second on Bradberry with a clean ride in 56.636 seconds and fourth on Shooting Star with a time of 58.636 seconds. Adam Prudent of Middleburg, VA was third with a clean ride in 58.073 seconds on Joy Ride.

Chapot also swept the top two places in the $1,500 1.35m Power & Speed Class, riding to the win on Umberto while placing second on Out of Ireland.

The Lake Placid Horse Shows are consolidating their Saturday and Sunday schedules into one action-packed, culminating day on Saturday. The $100,000 Woodlea Farms Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon will close Lake Placid's 2014 horse show schedule, culminating three consecutive weeks of horse shows at the North Elba Show Grounds in Lake Placid.
