Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp (East Sussex, UK) and Fernhill by Night had a lovely test in front of the judging panel of Anne-Mette Binder (DEN), Christoph Hess (GER), and Angela Tucker (GBR) to receive a score of 47.90. She and Deborah Halliday's 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding ended up in seventh place at the end of day one.

“It's great to be back at Boekelo and part of the Nations Cup team! ‘Blackie’ was a good boy today and did a much better test than last year,” Halliday-Sharp said. “There were a few bits that could have been tidier and it wasn't the best test we've done this year, but I'm still pleased with how far he's come and we are still well in the hunt with very tight scores at the top. There is still a long way to go and a lot to jump so we are getting focused on the next phases now!”

Tiana Coudray (Ojai, Calif.) and her own and Jatial Ltd's 12-year-old Warmblood gelding Kinnordy Rivaldo put forth a respectable performance at their first CCI3* together to score 56.50 to sit in 31st place on Thursday.

France’s Didier Dhennin leads after the first day of dressage on Opi de Saint Leo with a score of 42.70.

Dressage continues on Friday with Clark Montgomery and Loughan Glen performing their dressage test at 11:27am, while SharonWhite and Under Suspection closing out the U.S. effort at 3:41pm.
