Prix des States Medals Awarded at 2014 Randolph College/USEF National Junior Jumper Championship

- Prior to the start of the final Individual round of competition at the 2014 Randolph College/USEF National Junior Jumper Championship, Prix des States medals were awarded and the 2013 Zone 5 Championship banner was raised. On Friday night, Zone 4 clinched Team Gold as Zone 2 edged Zone 5 to Silver in an exciting jump-off.

The Zone 4, led by Chef d’Equipe Kim Land, earned Gold on a score of four faults on an evening where every member of the team delivered a clear round.
Zone 4 was composed of;

Virginia Ingram (Franklin, Tenn.) and Riverview Farm LLC’s 13-year-old KWPN gelding Urban.
Louise Graves (Nashville, Tenn.) and her own 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Zavira.
Tori Colvin (Loxahatchee, Fla.) and Karen Long Dwight’s 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Don Juan.
Haley Waters (Sparr, Fla.) and Chuck and Dana Water’s 11-year-old Swedish Warmblood mare Qurint.

"I'm so excited!" said Ingram. "It's so fun to be on a team, and I'm so happy that I got the opportunity to ride here. My horse is so amazing and he helps me so much, I'm so confident on him."

Zone 2, led by Chef d’Equipe Eamon Hughes, captured Silver following Lucy Deslauriers’ steady clear in the jump-off.

Zone 2 was composed of;

Lucy Deslauriers (New York, N.Y.) and Lisa Deslauriers nine-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Hester.
Lauren Fischer (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) and her own 12-year-old Selle Francais gelding Offenbach Du Granit.
Victoria Press (New York, N.Y.) and her own 11-year-old Westphalian gelding Cayenne 140.
Michael Hughes (Allendale, N.J.) and Christina Fried’s 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Luxina.

The Kelly Goguen led Zone 5 team sent Giavana Rinaldi as their representative in the jump-off, and the rider who was one of only three to jump double clear on Friday night lowered two rails but still led her team to the Bronze medal.

Zone 5 was composed of;

Giavana Rinaldi (Wayne, Ill.) and her own 10-year-old gelding of unknown breeding G.P.S. Brilliant Disguise.
Alec Bozorgi (Antioch, Ill.) and Kevin Babbington’s 13-year-old Selle Francais gelding Navy Blue Tarroy.
Vivian Yowan (Lexington, Ky.) and Stone Hill Farm’s 16-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Vornado Van Den Hoendrik.
Meredith Darst (Lebanon, Ohio) and Page Tredennick and Wood Run Farm’s 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Zenith Dance.
