World’s Championship Horse Show Western Country Pleasure Points Update Online

by By Reeves Kirtner | Apr 13, 2006, 1:43 PM

Updated standings for the Western Country Pleasure Invitational Class at the World’s Championship Horse Show are now online on the American Saddlebred Horse Association’s website at www.saddlebred.com.

The standings can be found under the “About the Breed” menu on the “KSF World’s Championship” tab, or by going to www.saddlebred.com/wchs-results. The document is under the heading, “Western Country Pleasure Invitational Standings.” This is a new page dedicated to the World’s Championship Horse Show that will include updated news items from and about the horse show, results from the show and the updated standings for this class.

The updated standings include the five shows that have taken place thus far in March. Qualifying will end July 2, 2006, for this second group of horses, with the World’s Championship Horse Show taking place August 20-26. The first eight qualifying horses can be found at www.saddlebred.com/files/ksfinvite.pdf.

Alan F. Balch, Executive Secretary/Registrar, explained how the American Saddlebred Registry (ASR) is involved in assisting the Kentucky State Fair in tabulating points for Western Country Pleasure qualifying in the 2006 section.

"Since the ASR and USEF both get results from USEF-licensed competitions, including Saddlebred classes, we advised the management of the Kentucky State Fair that we would assist them by verifying results and tabulating points according to the detailed system they provided to us. What we're going to try to do is update the point standings on a weekly basis, if at all possible, depending on when we receive official results from the shows.

"So far, we have received results from all USEF-licensed competitions held in March, so they're ready for publication now," reported Balch. "We'll continually update this on our website and provide each new update to the Kentucky State Fair as well. This will give everyone showing in the Western Country Pleasure classes the total picture as to where they stand, as often as possible."
