Find Saddlebred Stables Online at Saddlebred.com

by By Reeves Kirtner | Apr 20, 2006, 11:30 AM

Saddlebred.com has a new and valuable feature titled, “Saddle Up a Saddlebred,” which allows anyone interested in seeing, riding or learning more about Saddlebreds to enter their zip code and find a number of stables within a 300-mile radius.

It can be accessed by going to www.saddlebred.com and clicking on “About the Breed,” and then going to “Stable Search,” or type in www.saddlebred.com/breed/stables.php.

Right now, there are approximately 400 Saddlebred farms and stables in the database for the search. Farms and stables can be added and updated by e-mailing [email protected].

When a zip code is entered, a list of stables and farms will appear within a 300-mile radius, and the results will include the name, address, city, state, zip, contact person, phone number, website address and e-mail address for each entry. Also, it will give an approximate distance to the stable from the entered zip code and will provide a link to find the stable on a Google Map. It is important to note that distances are approximate, and greater distances may be more inaccurate; it is based on a GPS satellite system. Those looking for a specific barn should call for the exact location and directions.

American Saddlebred Horse Association President Fred Sarver is very pleased for the addition of this new feature.

“We know that once people see and experience our beautiful breed, they will fall in love with the Saddlebred,” Sarver said. “We just have to let them know where to go.”

Future plans include upgrading the search to include Saddlebred competitions, charter clubs and youth clubs.
