Wellington, Fla.
– Friday evening at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI5* presented by Diamante Farms hosted 15 combinations from six nations in Grand Prix Freestyle competition. The United States’ three-time National Champions, Steffen Peters and Four Wind’s Farm LLC’s Legolas 92, led the way for the home nation finishing in second-place.

Peters (San Diego, Calif.) and the 14-year-old Westphalian gelding earned a score of 76.200% to finish less than three points behind the winners.

“What an amazing honor to ride in this stadium here tonight, it was not just a pleasure to be here; it was an honor. I’m so proud we can compete with any other venue in the world,” said Peters.  “On top of that I was super happy with Legolas he was still a bit nervous but controlled and it was a very good start to the World Cup season 2015.”

Shelly Francis (Loxahatchee, Fla.) and Patrcia Stempel's 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Doktor, earned a fifth-place finish for the United States on a score of 74.975% to secure two spots in the top five for the United States.

Denmark’s Lars Petersen and Mariett claimed victory for the second night in a row after scoring 79.175% and compatriot Mikala Gundersen riding My Lady rounded out the top three on a score of 75.725%.
