– The United States got off to a strong start in FEI Nations Cup presented by Hollow Creek Farm competition as both the Young Rider and Junior Rider Teams lead their respective divisions following the first round. The first rotation in round one of Child Rider Nations Cup had just gotten underway when torrential rain rolled in and competition was called off for the remainder of the day. The Child Riders will complete their first round on Sunday morning, which will be directly followed by their second round and the second and final rounds of the Junior and Young Rider Nations Cups.

The U.S. Young Rider Team will head into Sunday’s second round on a score of zero after Shawn Casady (Harriman, Tenn. ) with Cavallo Farms, LLC’s Twister, Spencer Smith (Wellington, Fla.) with Wyndmont’s IV Ever, and Chloe Reid (Washington, D.C.) with Chloe D Reid LLC’s Athena all jumped faultless rounds. The team’s fourth combination, Michael Hughes (Allendale, N.J.) and Christina Fried’s Luxina did not take part in round one as they could not improve the team score with the Americans already standing on zero.

Lying second after round one is Brazil on four faults, with Mexico currently third on 17 faults.
