Gabriella & Sarah Young Win National Hunter Derby in Gulfport

- The USHJA $2,500 National Hunter Derby, presented by Tucci saw 45 horse and rider teams compete for the win in the Main Hunter Arena Friday afternoon.

The competition was steep and the handy round challenged the riders with a natural trot fence which seemed to determine the win for the class.

Gabriella, owned by Lulu Davis and ridden by Sarah Young of Spring Hill, Kansas won the class with a combined score of 181.

Second place was awarded to Life is Good, owned by Missy Nolen and ridden by Timothy Maddrix of Birmingham, Alabama who earned a combined score of 180.

Third place was awarded to Cordino, owned by Gina Gasko and ridden by Emily Hertz of Eads, Tennessee. The pair earned an overall score of 171.

Fourth place was awarded to Roland Park, owned and ridden by Dudley MacFarlane of Darien, Connecticut for their overall score of 168.75

Hertz returned for a fifth placing with Addison Bihm's Forever. The pair earned an overall score of 167.25.

Sixth place was awarded to MTM Inquisitive, owned by Girling Farm, LLC and ridden by Madeline Odom from Austin, Texas for their overall score of 160.5.  Promise Me, owned and ridden by Anna Binder of Austin, Texas earned a combined score of 163 and seventh place.
