Orlando, Fla. - The Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America (WPCSA) held its 2014 Annual General Meeting over the weekend of February 27 –March 1, 2015 in Orlando, Florida. Over 150 members from across the United States were part of this exciting annual event with a goal for 2015 to be the YEAR OF THE WELSH. Society members and the board of directors conducted committee meetings, informative clinics, award banquets and presentations.

The WPCSA Election Results

The membership elected to return Pat Cochran, Gail Thomson and Dr. Ruth Wilburn to the WPCSA Board for another term.  The Board also welcomes Megan Burtness, Bridlewood Welsh, Paso Robles, CA. Dr. Ruth Wilburn remains as President and Jackie Verkuyl continues in the Vice Presidential position.  All of our board members share an enduring devotion to raising, breeding and showing Welsh ponies and cobs.  A bylaw amendment relaxing the requirements for becoming a director was passed during this election year.

WPCSA Holds Successful Fund Raising Auctions

This year’s annual fund raising auction was a great success and resulted in a grand total to $7400.00!  The funds raised this year are slated for website improvements.  Our members are always generous donors and bidders because they want to be part of helping the society in some way.

2015 Annual Meeting Location Announced

San Antonio, TX is being considered for the site in 2016 and California in 2017.  A breeders’ panel is already in the works for the event.
The Society encourages its members and anyone interested in Welsh ponies or cobs to make plans to attend the next annual meeting in Texas February, 2016.
