Perhaps the most recognizable name in modern Equestrian Sport in the United States, David O’Connor competed in two Olympic Games, winning a team silver at the 1996 Summer Olympics and an individual gold and team bronze at the 2000 Summer Olympics. At the 1999 Pan American Games, O'Connor took an individual silver and team gold and at the 2002 World Equestrian Games he assisted the US team to gold.
Growing up in South Carolina, Sinead Halpin enjoyed a very successful Young Rider career, which included completing her first international event at 19 on a horse named Killian. Halpin spent many years working for U.S. Olympians Karen and David O’Connor at their High Acre Farm in The Plains, Va. and has since gone one to dozens of national and international titles representing the United States.
An accomplished four-star rider competing at the international level, Hannah Sue Burnett is a past USEF National Champion and a veteran competitor of the esteemed Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. Based in Florida, Burnett has already kicked off the 2015 with wins at international events and boasts a roster of high-performance wins over the years.
Michael Pollard caught the equestrian world’s attention at a young age when he was short listed for the Pan-American Games in 1999, since then Pollard has gone on to major success, claiming titles including top international-level titles. Pollard is married to fellow top-level Eventer and former Young Rider Champion Nathalie Bouckaert-Pollard, and they reside in Dalton, GA.
Paired with reining American Quarter Horses, these celebrity riders go-head-to-head with one another for bragging rights and top scores. Fans of equestrian sport are able to enjoy Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event Cross-Country action by day and World Championship Freestyle Reining that same night – all at the Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday, April, 25.
