Inaugural USEF CAI-B Oldwick held at Cedar Lane Farm

Lexington, KY – Tucker Johnson of Hobe Sound, FL, took first in the FEI Driving Four-in-Hand class at the USEF 2006 CAI-B Oldwick at Cedar Lane Farm held April 28-30. Johnson and his team of Warmbloods posted scores of 54.66 in dressage, 88.51 in marathon and 6.00 in cones. James Fairclough of Newton, NJ, and James Richards of Atlanta, GA, were second and third respectively. This four-in-hand competition was one of several selection trials for the 2006 FEI World Games to be held late this August in Aachen, Germany.

The inaugural combined driving event also included FEI Single Pony, FEI Pair Pony, FEI Single Horse and FEI Pair Horse classes. Friday’s competition encompassed the dressage phase, Saturday’s competition showcased the marathon phase and Sunday’s action was made up of the cones competition for each of the five combined driving classes.

FEI Single Pony honors went to Rochelle Temple of Powhatan, VA, with reserve going to Meghan Benge of Magnolia, TX. The FEI Pair Pony class was won by Miranda Cadwell of Southern Pines, NC, with Morgan Tracey of Beallsville, MD, taking reserve. In the FEI Pair Horse class Keady Cadwell of Southern Pines, NC, took home the honors with reserve champion going to Fritz Grupe of Stockton, CA. The FEI Single Horse competition was dominated by Scott Monroe of Sharon, CT, with Sara Schmitt of Glen Gardner, NJ, coming in reserve. The Single Horse competition was one of several selection trials for the 2006 Single Horse World Championships in Pratoni, Italy.
