- The third annual Pacific Cup CVI took place at the lovely Gilroy Gaits in Hollister, Calif. As in the past years, the Pacific Cup CVI offered competition at all levels, 1*, 2*, and 3*, as well as Children's, Juniors, and Seniors. This year there was an especially large entry in the beginning levels, and the Junior events, drawing vaulters and horses from around the U.S. and Canada (New Jersey, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Idaho, New Mexico, northern and southern California, Alberta, and British Columbia) as well as vaulters from Mexico, Norway, and Australia.

The ground jury consisted of four highly acclaimed judges. Suzanne Detol of the United States was President of the Ground Jury and was accompanied by Helma Schwarzmann of Germany, Elzbieta Dolinska of Poland, and Craig Coburn of the United States.

The Junior 2* events were especially strong as this was the third event in a series of competitions that will be used for Selections for the first FEI World Championships for Juniors to be held in Ermelo, The Netherlands in August 2015. The Woodside Vaulters “Woodside of Oz Squad”, dominated the Squad competition. Janie Salisbury and Sarah Dunn of Woodside Vaulters won the Pas de Deux competition. Tessa Divita, also of Woodside Vaulters, won the Individual Female competition, and Kaleb Patterson of Warm Beach Vaulters in Washington won the Individual Male 2* competition.

Woodside of Oz has the lead of the selection trials, winning every leg up to now. Rachel Polati, who plays Dorothy in their current freestyle, wrote:
“We just finished our third selection trial at CVI Gilroy, placing first. We have two more selection trials left to determine who goes to Worlds Juniors. As for our team, we are looking good as long as everyone stays healthy and injury free. Our training is going good, we are working on little things like choreography and refining transitions.”
