Para-Dressage Athletes Prepare for Golden State Dressage Classic CPEDI3*

Rancho Murieta, CA - June 11, 2015
- Eleven horse and rider combinations from Canada and the United States showcased their mounts for the Golden State Dressage Classic CPEDI3* FEI jog. Scheduled June 11-14, 2015, the Golden State Dressage Classic CPEDI3* takes place at the Murieta Equestrian Center in Rancho Murieta, CA. The Golden State Dressage Classic features top international dressage competition, impressive awards and an awe-inspiring facility. Para-Dressage riders will be competing over the next three days with the Team Test on Friday, June 12; the Individual Test on Saturday, June 13; and the Freestyle Test on Sunday. Para-Equestrians in Grade Ia, Ib, II, III, and IV will be competing at this horse show. The FEI Ground Jury includes Carlos Lopes (POR) 5*, Anne Prain (FRA) 5*, and David Schmutz (USA) 4*. Although this CPEDI3* is not a qualifier for the 2016 Rio Paralympics they are FEI shows where riders may earn their FEI Certificate of Capability.

Para-Dressage horse and rider combinations include 2010 and 2014 World Equestrian Games' athlete Susan Treabess (USA) and Kamiakin in Grade IV. In Grade III Kate Shoemaker (USA) and Pacifec M; Sarah Cummings (CAN) and West Bay; Lara Oles (USA) and Bella; and Tristiana Allwood (CAN) and Rufus. in Grade II Jennifer McKenzie (CAN) and Lexington Star Brite and Ashleigh Flores-Simmons (USA) and Binero. In Grade Ib Laurietta Oakleaf (USA) and Niekele Fan Busenitz and Camby Kaylor (USA) and Markgaards Donnewind. In Grade Ia, 2014 World Equestrian Games rider Roxanne Trunnell (USA) will be riding NTEC Daytona Beach and Royal Dancer.

The CPEDI3* begins at 11:30 a.m. and finishes with the last horse tracking down centerline at 2:23 p.m.

Following the Golden State Dressage Classic will be two USEF High Performance Events for Para-Dressage and Para-Driving. June 14-16, 2015, 8am-5pm is the  USEF High Performance West Coast Para Equestrian Dressage Symposium Develop the Coach Program for Coaches and Selected High Performance Riders in Rancho Murieta, CA. On June 15-16, 2015 9:00 AM - USEF High Performance West Coast Para Equestrian Driving Clinic for Coaches and High Performance Drivers occurs. All levels welcome from Novice to Advanced and there is no fee. Those interested may borrow a horse and carriage or use their own. Clinicians include Hardy Zantke and Diane Kastama.
