– A rainy cross country day at the Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials didn’t pose any problems for Land Rover Eventing Competition Grant recipients Lauren Kieffer and Veronica.  Ian Stark’s CCI3* track required bold riding, and Kieffer (Ocala, Fla.) and Team Rebecca, LLC's 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare delivered on Saturday. Even though Veronica pulled her right front shoe early on course, the pair easily tackled the tough track, incurring 4.4 time penalties to sit in 12th place on a score of 49.1.

"I'm very pleased with Veronica. She was very straightforward and keen despite losing a shoe early on," Kieffer said. "I'm very grateful to Land Rover and Team Rebecca for the opportunity. It is invaluable to be exposed to this level of competition."

The show jumping phase for the CCI3* begins at 11:30 a.m. local time on Sunday. Flora Harris (GBR) and Bayano currently lead the CCI3* with a score of 36.8. In the Under 25 CCI3* division, U.S. athlete Caroline Martin and Quantum Solace are in 17th place with a score of 75.5.
