Colorado Horse Park Summer in the Rockies I Wrap Up

Delaney Flynn and Quite Quick Parker, CO - June 10, 2015 - Colorado Horse Park (CHP) concluded its first week of hunter/jumper competition with the Summer in the Rockies I horse show this past weekend. Summer in the Rockies I featured a $30,000 Front Range Kubota Grand Prix and a $20,000 Open Welcome Stakes.

The $30,000 Front Range Kubota Grand Prix saw 17 entries contest the first round course, and four combinations advanced to the jump-off, where the short course saw two double clear rounds. Victory was claimed by the young Delaney Flynn aboard Irish Horse Stables' Quite Quick with a fast time of 38.268 seconds. Second place was earned with a time of 41.466 seconds laid down by Andrew Kocher and his own Casino Royal. Third place was also awarded to Andrew Kocher, this time aboard Ora De Te LLC's Ora Del Te Di Ca San Giorgio with a time of 37.29 and four jumping faults.

The $20,000 Open Welcome Stakes Class saw 24 entries with only four clear rounds. In a close jump-off, Bjorn Ikast rode his own Chestina Z to victory with a time of 40.252 seconds. In a close second was Andrew Kocher piloting Ora De Te LLC's Ora Del Te Di Ca San Giorgio with a time of 40.324. In third were Andrew Kocher and his own mount, Destiny Can De Noordheuvel, with a time of 41.611.

Jumper Highlights
The 1.0m Schooling Jumper Division saw a two-way tie for the championship. Both John Pearce aboard Rancho Corazon LLC's Bathsheba and Ali Kovich aboard her own Abstract shared championship honors. The reserve championship was won by Emma Tellor and Philip Dreissigacker, both riding Emma Tellor's Janitzio.
Sharon Classen piloting Serenity Ride Farm's Mystique claimed championship honors in the 1.10m Schooling Jumper Division, sponsored by Premier Equestrian. Following her was a four-way tie for reserve between Emily McConnell and Harriet Bunker's Armada, Philip Dreissigacker aboard Heather Chenault's Ravissant, Emma Tellor and Philip Dreissigacker aboard Emma Tellor's Janitzio, and Karen Banister riding Jason Sarno's Captain Cook.
In the 1.15m Schooling Jumper Division, sponsored by CWD, Andrew Kocher and Up The Creek Farm's Filip claimed the championship. In reserve was Karen Banister piloting Claire Lyons' Livorno.
In the Adult Jumper Division, Kim Barbieri and her own Mephisto earned the championship tricolor. The division saw a three-way tie for reserve champion between Carol Tucker and her mount, Romanov, Rashae Kacavenda aboard her mount, Centa Beh, and Heather Tseng piloting her own Canaris II.
In the Children's Jumper Division, Jaden Olson aboard Kim Dixon's Carus Z earned the championship. In a three-way tie for the reserve championship was Maddee Morley aboard both her mount, Vento Stellare, and Tracey Powers' Mischievious Mate alongside Abigail Grace Kelley aboard Cookie Desimone's Cha Cha Cha.

Hunter & Equitation Highlights
Rachel Pekala and her mount, Tory Burch, claimed championship honors in the Amateur Owner 3'3"/3'6" Division, sponsored by Serenity Farm. The reserve championship was earned by Kit McClorey and Amanda Thomas piloting Kit McClorey's Sun Valley.

Kristin Nixon and her mount, Better Days, claimed champion in the Conformation Hunter Division. Riding to reserve was Renee Lenkart piloting Macmillan Sport Horse's Caymen.
The Children's Pony Division saw Ellie Woodley and Charlotte Anguiano's Farnley Designer earn the championship ribbon. In reserve was Colleen Gilmore piloting Laurie Grayson's Just Say So.

In the Children's Equitation, Sarah Kullman riding Brittany Factor's Baseline earned the championship ribbon. In reserve was Logan Goetz aboard his own Sunny Days.

Jaden Olson and her mount, Conradical, claimed champion in the 12 - 14 Equitation Division, followed by Jessica Morris and her own West Indies in reserve. The 15-17 Equitation Division saw Kamryn Steel and her own Cartina B claim championship honors, followed by Ashley Sprinkle piloting her own Bootlegger Lane.
