Amateur Owner/Youth Clinic and Fun Show Offered to Paso Fino Enthusiasts

by By Sarah Holt | May 11, 2006, 1:21 PM

The clinic "What the Judges are Looking for, and How to Achieve the Results with Your Horse," with Paso Fino Horse Association Senior Certified Judge and Trainer of the Year Rick Meyer and with Top Equitation Trainer Christy Meyer, will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 2, at El Cardenal Farm in Mooresville, NC, with a question and answer session. It will resume Saturday morning with hands-on work with horse and rider.

The fun show will begin around 12 p.m. on Saturday with several fun Paso Fino classes and additional classes can be added as requested by exhibitors. The classes will be judged by Meyer, and he will be on hand with advice and commentary to help riders understand their placements and how to improve.

Following the show will be an official Youth Mundial Practice Session with Team USA Coaches Robbyn Young and Christy Meyer.

All proceeds benefit Ernie Irvan’s Race2Safety Foundation, which was formed in 2004. The mission statement of the foundation is to make a positive difference in the lives of men, women and children across America by informing and educating them about the latest transportation-related head protection equipment and technologies and actively promoting the everyday use of such equipment.

Race 2 Safety works closely with safety equipment manufacturers, head injury prevention and treatment associations, as well as state and federal transportation safety organizations to help dramatically reduce the number of transportation-related traumatic brain injuries that occur every year.
