The Plains, Va. – The final Preparation Event for the U.S. Pan American Eventing Team and Alternates continued this evening with show jumping at the Land Rover Great Meadow International presented by Adequan. Going to task over the Richard Jeffery designed track, eight U.S. team and alternate combinations competed in the Preparation Event division with fences heights at 1.20m, while three combinations entered the CIC3*. The Preparation Event leaderboard remained relatively unchanged with Lauren Kieffer moving up one with Marie Le Menestrel's Meadowbrook's Scarlett to secure the lead going into tomorrow’s cross-country. In the CIC3* competition, team alternates Jennie Brannigan (Kennett Square, Pa.) and Nina Gardner's Cambalda maintained their lead on the strength of a double-clear round.

Show jumping and dressage competition will be available on-demand and tomorrow’s cross-country will be broadcast live on the USEF Network.

In the Preparation Event division, team and alternate combinations Boyd Martin (Cochranville, Pa.) and the Pancho Villa Syndicate’s Pancho Villa, Will Faudree (Southern Pines, N.C.) and Jennifer Mosing and Sterling Silver Stables' Pfun, Matt Brown (Petaluma, Calif.) with Blossom Creek Foundation's BCF Belicoso, Marilyn Little (Frederick, Md.) and Raylyn Farms and Phoebe and Michael Manders' RF Scandalous, Phillip Dutton (West Grove, Pa.) and Thomas Tierney and Ann Jones’ Fernhill Fugitive, and Lauren Kieffer (Ocala, Fla.) and Jacqueline Mars’ Vermiculus all posted double-clear rounds to sit in second-seventh place respectively.

Leading after dressage, Dutton and Thomas Tierney and Simon Roosevelt's Fernhill Cubalawn had a stumble after fence eight that caused as unplanned dismount for Dutton. Both horse and athlete were up immediately and unharmed.

“We are both fine,” reported Dutton. “He [Fernhill Cubalawn] came in well to the jump, jumped it well, and stumbled a bit coming out. It was just one of those freak things that happens.”

Competing in the CIC3*, team alternates Michael Pollard (Dalton, Ga.) and Carl, Nicolas and Stanislas Bouckaert's Cyrano Z were double-clear to move into fourth place. Tamra Smith (Murrieta, Calif.) and Alexandra Ahearn's Mai Baum had two rails and now sit in sixth.

Coverage of cross-country will begin tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. ET on the USEF Network.
