2015 Youth National Arabian & Half-ArabianChampionship Horse Show to be Held in Albuquerque

The 2015 Youth National Arabian & Half-ArabianChampionship Horse Show and Shopping Expo is set from July 18 to 25 at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque. Youth Nationals is free and open to the public.

Youth exhibitors will have the chance to show off their hard work over a week period in a variety of classes. Classes will range in every discipline from English pleasure to working cow horse, to driving and more; showing the versatility of the Arabian horse.

Those wanting to learn more about the Arabian horse, Total Arabian Interaction Learning (TAIL) tours will be held July 18 - 25 and are free to the public. With TAIL, parents and youth will meet breeders, trainers, and owners of Arabian horses. Visitors get up-close and personal with Arabian horses and learn educational facts about the breed. The program's goal is to make people feel comfortable, welcome, and informed about Arabian horses. Reservations are required; contact Mikayla Boge, Marketing and Communications Specialist at 303-696-4569 to reserve your space.

The public will have a chance to browse the shopping expo from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily on Manuel Lujan and Heritage Avenue. Vendors will have art, jewelry, clothing, kids’ toys, equine accessories and much more.

Lots of activities go on during the show and are available and open to the public. Youth exhibitors will participate in the Parade of Regions at 5:30 p.m. Sunday July 19. Each region will decorate a golf cart according to the theme of Horsin’ Around The World. The golf carts will drive down Main Street and throw candy and treats. Bring your families and kids as this event is free to the public.

Plus, the 12th annual Arabian Professional and Amateur Horsemen’s Association Youth Nationals Clinics will be held 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday July 16 in the Horse Arena. Clinicians featured will be 2014 APAHA Hall of Fame Inductee Lisa Jo White and 2014 APAHA Professional Instructor of the Year Laurie Long.
