Bratislava, Slovakia – A team of up-and-coming athletes will represent the U.S. in the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup at CSIO3*-W Bratislava, July 23-26 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Under the guidance of Chef d’Equipe DiAnn Langer, the team consists of Audrey Coulter, Allyssa Hecht, Michael Hughes, and Hannah von Heidegger, all of whom are competing on their first senior team. The U.S. team has drawn eighth in the order of 13 teams.

Coulter (San Francisco, Calif.) has climbed from the Young Rider rankings to having top performances at the senior level. At the 2015 Longines Global Champions Tour stop at Miami Beach, she and Capital Colnardo, a 2005 Holsteiner stallion owned by Copernicus Stables, LLC, were eighth in the American Invitational CSI5*. Just this month, Coulter scored a second-place finish in a class at CSI4* Mons Ghlin.

Hecht (San Diego, Calif.) has scored top placings with Calero, a 2003 Holsteiner gelding owned by Neaulani Farms. The pair was fourth in the $50,000 Purina Animal Nutrition Grand Prix CSI2*-W during week five of the HITS Thermal Desert Circuit. Hecht and Calero are coming off a top-10 finish in a class at CSI3* Kapellen.

Hughes (Allendale, N.J.) has been an active Young Rider competitor, and was a member of the winning U.S. teams in the FEI Young Riders Nation Cup presented by Hollow Creek Farm for the past two years at CSIO4* Wellington. He will use his Nations Cup experience as he steps up to the senior level in Bratislava, riding MacArthur, Christina Fried’s 2000 Dutch gelding. The pair was second in the $100,000 Sapphire Grand Prix of Devon in May at the Devon Horse Show. This month Hughes was third in a class at CSI3* Kapellen.

Von Heidegger (Chatsworth, Calif.) will ride Monarch International’s Geledimar in her first Nations Cup experience. She and the 2003 Zangersheide mare were second in the $50,000 Purina Animal Nutrition Grand Prix CSI2*-W during week five of the HITS Thermal Desert Circuit. After having top-10 finishes at Spruce Meadows, the pair is in top form for its first summer competing in Europe.

The Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup will take place Friday at 2:00 p.m. CEST.
