Solid U.S. Effort at CAIO4* Riesenbeck

Riesenbeck, Germany – The U.S. driving contingent had a strong showing at CAIO4* Riesenbeck on July 30-August 1. Chester Weber finished fourth in a large field for the Four-in-Hand World Cup division, while the U.S. Pair Horse Team finished fifth, with each member having solid performances.

Weber (Ocala, Fla.) began his weekend by driving his and Jane Clark’s KWPN geldings to second place in the dressage phase with a score of 42.94. On marathon day, he and his team were 12th in the phase, putting them in fourth overall. In the cones phase, Weber knocked a single ball to finish eighth in the final phase and remain fourth place overall with a score of 161.17.

In the CAIO4*-H2 division, the U.S. Pairs put forth a great effort against stiff competition. Following the dressage phase, the U.S. team was seventh with Jacob Arnold (Snow Camp, N.C.) scoring 54.04 for 16th place, while husband-and-wife team Scott and Kathrin Dancer (Woodside, Calif.) scored 63.00 and 63.87 for 34th and 36th place, respectively. In the marathon phase, the team climbed one place to sixth. Arnold blazed around the course to finish the phase in eighth, with Scott in 27th and Kathrin in 36th. On the final day of competition, the U.S. drivers performed well over a challenging course, with Kathrin leading the way in 15th place, followed by Arnold in 20th and Scott in 21st. The U.S. team ended up fifth overall with a score of 342.13. Individually, Arnold led the way in 10th place with a score of 161.86, with Scott in 32nd on a score of 181.97 and Kathrin in 34th.with a score of 187.33.
