U.S. Vaulters Successful in Round One of 2015 FEI World Vaulting Championships for Juniors

Ermelo, The Netherlands – Following round one of competition for the Individual Males, Individual Females, and Pas-de-Deux at the 2015 FEI World Vaulting Championships for Juniors, the United States sits poised for top placings as it sends five individuals and both Pas-de-Deux forward to round two.

In the Individual Males, the top 15 athletes move forward to round two. Colton Palmer aboard Zygo, lunged by Maurits De Vries, leads the American effort in seventh place on a score of 6.964. Luke Overton with Kalle 76, lunged by Carolyn Brand, will also move forward, placing 14th on a score of 6.319. Gaining valuable experience at his first World Championships, Kaleb Patterson with Amontillado 9, lunged by Bettina Gross, finished in 16th on 6.857.

Fifteen athletes will also move forward in the Individual Female division. For the U.S., all the ladies will compete in round two, with Tessa Ditva on Pino del Rio, lunged by Julia Divita, in eighth on 7.213, Michelle Guo on Jarl, lunged by Lasse Kristensen, on 7.211, and Siddartha Kreaden on Klintholms Ramstein, lunged by Lasse Kristensen, in 14th on 6.857.

Both the males and females will perform their round two compulsory tests Saturday, with the final freestyle taking place Sunday.

The U.S. was dominant in the Pas-de-Deux with Bodhi Hall and Michelle Guo aboard Jarl, lunged by Lasse Kristensen, leading the division on a score of 7.981. Sitting in fourth is the second American duo of Sarah Dunn and Janis Salisburry aboard Ghost Alfarvad Z, lunged by Lasse Kristensen, on a score of 7.093.

The U.S. Squad sits in third after the compulsory test of round one, the will complete round one with the freestyle test on Saturday. The top 12 squads will move forward to Sunday’s final.
