Bridgehampton, N.Y.
- Sophie Simpson of Wellington, FL, was presented with the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Style of Riding Award at the 40th Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show. The award is presented to the rider in the Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper division whose form and style best exemplifies that of great American riders of the past such as Hall of Famers George Morris, Joe Fargis and Conrad Homfeld.

To receive the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Style of Riding Award, the recipient must have the respectful, dignified, courteous, and workmanlike manner of a true sportsman. Simpson was selected by the Hampton Classic's Jumper Judges as a rider who lives up to the high standards that the award represents.

Simpson, 17, is the daughter of international show jumpers Will Simpson and Nicole Shahinian-Simpson.  She placed fourth in the $25,000 Campbell Stables Show Jumping Derby with Why Not.

"We would like to congratulate Sophie on receiving the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Style of Riding Award at this year's Hampton Classic Horse Show," said Marty Bauman, Executive Director of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame. "Sophie is a talented rider who showcased all the qualities that we look for; she is a well-deserving recipient of this special award."

About the Show Jumping Hall of Fame

The Show Jumping Hall of Fame is located at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Plaques honoring those who have been honored with induction into the Hall of Fame can be seen at the Horse Park's Rolex Stadium.
