Harrisburg, Pa. - Seven teams of accomplished junior jumper competitors head to the Pennsylvania National Horse Show this week to contest the exciting Prix des States event.  For many of the riders, this competition represents their first equestrian team experience, and it always proves to be a memorable one. The collective spirit behind it is evidenced in the glittering posters and banners cheering on each zone. The stands will be full as each spectator roots for his/her zone or favorite athletes.

The 2015 Neue Shule/USEF National Junior Jumper Championships commence on Thursday, October 8, with the Phase I Speed Class. Friday’s schedule consists of the Phase II Team Competition which is run in a modified Nations Cup format. Each team member jumps two rounds with the highest score of faults incurred becoming the one drop score for each team. The team carrying the least number of faults at the end of two rounds will be awarded the Prix des States Gold medal. In the event of a tie in scores, one member from the tied teams will be chosen to participate in a timed jump-off.

The Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg, Pa., perennial site of the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, will host Phase III, the individual competition. Scores from all three phases will accumulate to crown the 2015 Neue Schule/USEF National Junior Jumper Champion.

This year’s entries include many returning 2014 medal winners and an outstanding field of up-and-coming talent.
