Temecula, Calif. – Two talented combinations traveled west with the help of USEF Land Rover Competition Grants to compete in the Galway Downs International CCI3*, running October 29-November 1. Phillip Dutton and Mr. Candyman and Lauren Kieffer and Meadowbrook’s Scarlett aim for top performances to bring their seasons to a close.

Dutton (West Grove, Pa.) brings his new mount Mr. Candyman for the horse’s CCI3* debut at Galway Downs. Even though Dutton has been competing Ann Jones, Bridget Colman, and Caroline Moran's 2007 Holsteiner gelding for six months, the pair have already scored several solid performances. Dutton and Mr. Candyman were second in the Advanced A division at Five Points Horse Trials and completed their first CIC3* as a combination at Plantation Field International.

Kieffer (Middleburg, Va.) and Meadowbrook's Scarlett will return to the competition ring for the first time since they helped the U.S. team claim Team Gold at the Pan American Games. Earlier this year, she and Marie Le Menestrel's 2007 Thoroughbred Cross mare were second in the Jersey Fresh International CCI3* and hope to have another top CCI3* placing at Galway Downs.

CCI3* dressage competition begins at 1:00 p.m. PT on Friday followed by the cross-country phase at 11:45 p.m. PT on Saturday. The competition will finish up on Sunday with the show jumping phase getting underway at 2:50 p.m. PT.
