Lexington, Ky. – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will host two Town Hall meetings during its Annual Meeting this week in Lexington, Ky. These meetings are open to all USEF members and are intended to generate valuable discussion on topics vital to equestrian sport. For those unable to attend in person, the meetings will be available on-demand on the USEF Network where questions and comments may also be submitted.
Drugs and Medications Accountability Town Hall Meeting
Taking place Thursday, January 14, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. ET, this meeting will be the second Town Hall held to gather input on GR404 which addresses the accountability of trainers and other persons responsible. The first Town Hall on this topic was held December 8, 2015, at the USHJA Annual Meeting and can be viewed on-demand on the USEF Network.
Coaching Town Hall Meeting
Taking place Friday, January 15, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. ET, this meeting will provide an initial forum to discuss the possibilities and options for the future of equestrian coaching (trainers, instructors, and teachers) in the U.S. It will include discussion on the viability of developing, in partnership with USEF recognized affiliates, a coaching pipeline for equestrian sport that will enhance, coordinate with, and build on the work to date of the affiliates. The meeting will include presenters: Will Connell, USEF Director of Sport, Carolyn Bland, U.S. vaulting coach and coach educator, and Yogi Breisner, Great Britain Eventing Team Performance Manager/Chef d’Equipe and accomplished coaching program advisor and coach developer.
