West Yorkshire, England – Jenny Caras will make her overseas debut at the Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials as part of the inaugural Karen Stives European Developing Tour.  She will compete in the Bishop Burton College Under 25 CCI3* division with the assistance of a Karen Stives Endowment Fund for High Performance Eventing Grant.

Twenty-year-old Caras (Cartersville, Ga.) will compete her own Fernhill Fortitude in her first European competition. Last summer, the pair finished fourth in the Bromont International CCI3* and sixth in the Jersey Fresh International CIC3*. In the fall, Caras was the highest-placed Young Rider in The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International CCI3*. She and the 2004 Irish Sport Horse gelding were recently fifth in Jersey Fresh International CIC2* to prepare for their trip abroad.

Changes were made to the 2016 Karen Stives European Developing Tour after its inception. It was initially scheduled to include stops at Houghton International Horse Trials, as well as the Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials, but was adjusted to only include Bramham. Caroline Martin (Miami Beach, Fla.) was also a recipient of a Karen Stives Endowment Fund for High Performance Eventing Grant, but had to withdraw from the competition.

Two other U.S. combinations will also compete at Bramham. Katherine Coleman (Wiltshire, England) will ride her own Longwood, a 2002 Irish Sport Horse gelding, in the Equi-Trek CCI3* division, while Clark Montgomery (Tetbury, England) will ride Loughan Glen, Jessica Montgomery, Kathryn Kraft, and Holly & William Becker’s 2003 Irish Sport Horse gelding, in the Event Rider Masters CIC3* division.

The Bishop Burton College Under 25 CCI3* division will perform dressage on Thursday and Friday, with Caras and Fernhill Fortitude performing their dressage test at 3:50 p.m. local time. Cross-country will take place on Saturday and show jumping will close out the competition on Sunday.
