Lexington, KY – Jamie Saults, who was USEF Director of Reining for three years, has returned to manage the USEF Endurance High-Performance program through this summer’s 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany. Jamie takes the program over from Mary Lutz, Director of Endurance and Para-Equestrian, who tragically died in a riding accident on June 9th.
Jamie left the USEF in 2005 to dive into the world of political campaigns but is glad to be back in the horse world. “I have loved Endurance since I first covered it as a media representative in 1990. Mary made it especially fun so I would travel with her whenever possible. It is an honor to be asked to do this” said Saults. Jamie covered Endurance for the USET and USEF press efforts at the World Equestrian Games in 1990, 1998 and 2002; the 1996 and 2004/2005 World Endurance Championships; the 2001 and 2003 Endurance World Cup/Masters in Dubai; and at the European Endurance Championship in 2001 and 2003.
“We are very grateful to have Jamie with us again, especially under these unfortunate circumstances. Jamie’s experience in managing a High Performance program and love of Endurance are a great resource for us, and she is able to hit the ground running on behalf of our WEG Endurance Team,” said Jim Wolf, USEF Executive Director of Sport Programs.
