 - During the 2016/2017 season, the International Bromont will host the first leg of the East Coast of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping North American League and the course will be designed by none other than the 2016 Olympic course designer, Brazilian Guilherme Noguiera Jorge.

"Guilherme is an excellent designer. He has talent and passion. Riders have a lot of respect for him. We are incredibly lucky to have him on our 2016 team," said Roger Deslauriers, the show manager.

One last stop on the road to Rio

Incredibly lucky is what we are: in the early 2000s, the International Bromont was the first show in North America to accept Guilherme Jorge as a course designer for FEI classes - and, for the 2016 season, Bromont will be the last event for the designer before the Olympic Games, held from August 5th to 21st, 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Launch of the 2016/2017 season

In the league's new format, only fourteen events in all of North America host a Longines FEI World Cup qualifying event.

"Each event has its own history and identity," explained Roger Deslauriers, "but throughout the league, we promote collaboration and we all work towards the same goal. We create the best: prestigious events, talented riders and exceptional competition venues. We bring equestrian sports to the people through a distinctly unique league."

A few days before the Olympic Games, welcoming the man who will be the course designer for Rio 2016, speaks highly of our intent of promoting excellence,

"It is exceptional for the opening event of the 2016/2017 season to have such a talented and renowned course designer," added Roger Deslauriers. "It is a privilege to have Guilherme on our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the riders who will participate in Bromont, and I thank Guilherme for providing it."

The International Bromont will host two weeks of FEI sanctioned competition from July 20th to 24th and 27th to 30th, 2016. A unique international event in Quebec, the International Bromont is one of four Canadian events to present a Longines FEI World Cup qualifier, along with the Royal Winter Fair (Toronto, ON), the Royal West (Calgary, AB) and the Thunderbird (Langley, BC).
