Aachen, Germany - On Friday, The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team member, Katherine Bateson-Chandler, withdrew Jane Clark’s Alcazar from CDIO5* Aachen due to a mild case of colic. The gelding showed symptoms of colic early on Friday and in the interest of horse welfare, Bateson-Chandler, in consultation with Team Veterinarian Dr. Rick Mitchell, elected to withdraw Alcazar from competition and treat the horse. The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team will move forward to Saturday’s second half of team competition, the Grand Prix Special, but will not have a drop-score as they are now a three-member team.
