Lexington, Ky. - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and Luitpold Animal Health, a division of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and the manufacturer of Adequan® i.m. (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), are proud to announce that Adequan® i.m. will continue its sponsorship of the USEF and as the title sponsor of the FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships.

"Support from Adequan® i.m. is vital to the well-being of all our equine athletes and programs," said Bill Moroney, USEF CEO. "It is only through the valuable contributions of sponsors like Adequan® i.m. that these prestigious championships are possible."

"Since 2005, Adequan® i.m. has proudly supported the USEF and its endeavors to promote excellence in this country's equestrian community," stated Allyn Mann, Director of Luitpold Animal Health. "We are honored to be a long term sponsor of the USEF and look forward to an exciting 2016 season. Good luck to all competitors."

The Adequan®/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North is the premier equestrian competition for up-and-coming talent in North America. Young equestrian athletes between the ages of 14 and 21 will compete for Team and Individual FEI medals at the 2016 NAJYRC, July 26-31, at the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, CO.

The 2016 Adequan®/USEF Open Reining National Championship will be held Friday, September 2, during the Tulsa Reining Classic at the Expo Square in Tulsa, OK.

Adequan® i.m. is a well-known name in the treatment of equine non-infectious degenerative joint disease (DJD). Treatment with Adequan i.m. diminishes the destructive processes of DJD, reverses the processes that result in loss of cartilage components, and improves overall joint function and associated lameness of the carpal and hock joints. Adequan® i.m. is the only FDA-approved equine intramuscular polysulfated glycosaminoglycan. If your equine athlete or companion horse is experiencing DJD, consult with your veterinarian, and discuss whether Adequan® i.m. is appropriate for your horse.
